GPL Licensing

In short:
The code is GPL. You can run, study, modify, and share it.
PRO licenses pay for updates, support, and services — not for restricting GPL rights.

All VerseLabWP by BITSTRUCT SRL WordPress Themes & Plugins (Free and PRO) are released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0-or-later).

What GPL means for you

You may use, study, modify, and redistribute the software.
If you redistribute, you must do so under GPL-compatible terms, include the source code (or offer it), and keep the copyright and license notices.
We provide the software AS IS, without warranty (see Disclaimer below).

Scope & mixed assets

Code (PHP/JS/CSS): GPL-3.0-or-later.
WordPress requirement: WordPress is GPL; distributing themes/plugins under GPL keeps compatibility.
Assets (images, fonts, icons, demo media): unless stated otherwise, we license our original assets under GPL-3.0-or-later as well. Third-party assets may carry their own licenses (see “Third-Party Components” below).
Trademarks/branding (names, logos): not covered by GPL—see “Trademarks”.
Where an asset is mistakenly included under incompatible terms, the license of that asset prevails and the asset must be replaced or removed.

PRO versions & license keys

“PRO” denotes paid builds, support, and update services.
License keys are service entitlements (updates/support/remote services). They do not restrict your GPL rights to run/modify/share the code you lawfully received.
Purchasing a PRO version does not grant additional rights to the code beyond those provided by the GPL; it grants access to commercial services only.

Your obligations when distributing

If you share or sell copies (modified or not), you must:

Keep copyright and license notices.
Provide the Corresponding Source (or a valid written offer) as GPL-3.0 requires.
License the entire work (that is based on our code) under GPL-compatible terms.
Make sure end users see the “no warranty” / license info somewhere appropriate (e.g., “About” page).

Third-party components

Our products may include dependencies (libraries, icons, fonts, SDKs). Each remains under its original license. We list them in the product’s licenses/ folder or documentation with links and notices. You must keep those notices intact.

Trademarks

“BITSTRUCT”, product names, and logos are trademarks of BITSTRUCT SRL. GPL does not grant trademark rights. Do not imply endorsement or use our marks in a confusing way.

Warranty & liability disclaimer (summary)

The software is provided “AS IS”, without any warranty. We are not liable for any damages arising from use or inability to use the software. See GPL v3, sections 15–17.

Getting source code

Packaged downloads include source.
If you received object code only, you’re entitled under GPL to the Corresponding Source. Contact us at [email protected] with proof of purchase/receipt.

Support & updates

Commercial support and updates are provided to customers with an active service license. GPL rights to use/modify/share the code are independent of support eligibility.

API/Cloud features (if applicable)

Some features call external services (e.g., AI/YouTube). Those services are governed by their own terms and are not part of the GPL’d code. Disabling those features keeps the plugin fully usable under GPL.

Access to such services may require an active commercial license and acceptance of additional service-specific terms.
